Weekly Reading Raffle

Reading is fun itself, but reading and being rewarded for it is even better!  This year we’re continuing our Weekly Reading Raffle as part of our Summer Reading Program.  Every week, children can show us their progress in their reading logs and enter into the raffle.  The raffle entries roll over from week to week, so every week a child enters increases their chances of being drawn!

Raffle entries are from June 22 – August 17th, with the weekly raffle being drawn every Thursday evening.  Winners will be notified by phone.  Raffles are open to children birth – age 12.  No purchase necessary.  Children may only win one raffle prize during the 2012 Summer Reading Program.

Reading for Wishes

Here at the Middletown Public Library, we like to make a difference in the community every way we can.  Last year we participated in Read-To-Feed during the summer reading program where we were able to donate money to Heifer International.  We plan on making a big difference this summer with our Reading for Wishes fundraising campaign for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

For every book a child reads, they put a marble into our Wish Bank.  Each marble counts as 10 cents that the Friends of the Middletown Public Library will donate to Make-A-Wish to help a Rhode Island child’s wish or dream come true!

Every book read this summer means more money raised for Make-A-Wish, so keep reading to make a difference in a child’s life!
