Movie Matinee for Kids
Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver 13 years of age or older.

Rated PG; 107 minutes; 2011
Tintin is the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a work of high adventure  against the nefarious Red Rockham.   Based on the series of books The Adventures of Tin Tin by Herge.

Funtime Storytime: 

Funtime Storytime is a drop-in 30 minute program for ages 3-5.  These storytimes consist of age-appropriate stories, songs, and rhymes.  Storytimes are followed by a playtime! Mondays at 11am on September 10th, 17th, and 24th.
Preschool Storytime:
Register your child for age-appropriate stories, songs, rhymes, and snacks or a simple craft.
Ages 4-5.  Registration is required.  FREE. Meets on Tuesdays at 11am on September 11th, 18th, and 25th.
Toddler Time:
Toddler Time is a special storytime for 2 & 3 year olds with a parent or caregiver.   Storytimes consist of age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and rhymes, with a simple craft or snack.  Registration is required.  FREE.  Meets on Wednesdays at 11am on September 12, 19th, and 26th
Babytime Playgroup:
Babytime Playgroup is a drop-in playgroup for babies from ages birth-24 months.  Enjoy socializing and playing with specially selected age-appropriate toys and board books.  The library will provide toys, early literacy resources, and parenting materials for you and your child to enjoy in a warm and supportive environment with other parents and caregivers.  Meets on Fridays from 10am – 11am.

Art @ the Library, an Afterschool Art Series

String and Blow Art Painting : Wednesday, September 12th at 3:30pm

Children will create their own masterpieces in our afterschool art series using a variety of techniques including painting, collage, drawing,and mixed media.Ages 5 and up. Must Pre-register. Visit or call the Children’s Department 846-1573 to register.
Alphabet Art: Wednesday, September 26th at 3:30pm
It’s as easy as ABC. Become an artist by connecting letters with lines and color to create abstract art worthy of any museum.  Ages 5 and up. Must Pre-register.  Visit or call the Children’s Department 846-1573 to register.

Saturday, September 22nd at 11am: Busy Bee’s
Discover the secret life of bee’s through stories and a hands-on demonstration of equipment used by a beekeeper, followed up with a craft and a visit to the Community Garden located in the back of the library.

Saturday, September 29th at 11am: Harvest Corn
Corn’s history and uses will be explored through stories and hands-on experiences.  Includes a craft and a visit to the Community Garden to harvest our corn stalks.

More Peas, Please

Our Greenies will enjoy planting their own pea pods to take home in this easy peasy edition of Greenie Gardeners.  We’ll also enjoy a veggie-tastic storytime before going out to the Children’s Garden to explore what we’ve planted so far in the season.
