Things that we’re looking forward to doing this month in the library: spring vacation week, planting flowers, hatching baby chicks, and big, BIG bubbles! Here’s the details:
Are you ready to see the secret world of bubbles, to see bubbles as you’ve never seen them before? Keith Michael Johnson shows us the amazing science behind bubbles in an entertaining and education show. Just how big will his bubbles be? Think BIG! To get a sneak peek into his program, check out the YouTube clip below.
When: Tuesday, April 17th at 2pm in the Meeting Room. For all ages. One hour long.
To say that we’re excited to be hosting an incubator of chicken eggs for 3 weeks from Casey Farm in the Children’s Department is a bit of an understatement. To start it off with a bang an educator from their farm will be presenting a slide show on chicken development and behavior. This is followed by a hands-on display of various bird eggs and a visit from one of the farm’s Dominique chickens, a rare breed they are actively conserving. Come join us as we welcome the chicks to the library!
When: Thursday, April 19th at 11am. For grades K-8. One hour long.
Earth Day Flower Potting Party
Roll up those sleeves and get those hands dirty with us, we’re planting flowers! We’ll provide all the materials (including a “dirt” cake dessert!), and all you have to do is show up, get a little dirty, and take home a potted seed that will blossom into a beautiful plant.
When: Saturday, April 21 at 11am. Ages 3 and up. Pre-registration required.
